I'm always very happy when I'm with friends in a cafe or restaurant overlooking the sea. Yesterday we were very fortunate to have very mild sunny weather, and we had a very leisurely lunch (our big meal of the day) in our favorite fish restaurant. We had reserved our usual table by the window and had a great view of the Mediterranean. What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Warm, sunny days cheer me up, while cold cloudy weather kinda depresses me. I’m always very happy when I’m with friends in a cafe or restaurant overlooking the sea. When i am down (been alot this year) I imagine I live in a lovely apartment (yes , I "do" the furniture, drapes etc ) and I see myself shopping , walking my dog and eating here and there in Paris . Silly I know but it makes me concentrate on something other than my woes and I do have fun! Now, if I could win a huge lottery - I know exactly what I am going to do ! Unfortunately, we were also hit with snow last week, which then froze, and we now have patches of several-inch thick ice everywhere. The highest the temperature has been in 36°F, and the forecast is predicting more of the same. My favorite places to be are: at home with my honey or in Positano (or anywhere in Southern Italy!). Luckily, we escape to Southern California for the weekend several times during the winter, and while it doesn't even come close to comparing to Italy, being able to go without a parka in January is heavenly to me!
