It has been a long, cold, snowy Winter here so far in the Northeast.
This past Saturday was one of the first nice sunny days, showing perhaps a glimpse of Spring.
And not a moment to soon. Especially since the pooch has been feeling rather cooped up (uh, Mom and Dad too) and also recovering from a bit of eyelid surgery. She is going stir crazy in the house.
We were happy to get out for some fresh air and some exercise on the Vanderbilt Mansion grounds. And I brought my camera along to snap some shots along the way.
Here are a few favorites:
And since it is Love Thursday, I couldn't resist this little ditty peering out on the bottom level of the mansion…

Happy Love Thursday. I like your thawing take on the love theme. I haven’t participated in a while, but you have me motivated for next Thursday.

Another place on my list of wanna go see someday! Thanks for posting the pictures and it sounds like you enjoyed your day. I haven’t checked the weather again today, but last I heard a nor’easter is headed our way on Sunday – just when we start to maybe feel like spring is in the air
( big whine…so I think I’ll start making the chicken and 40 cloves of garlic now and have a glass of wine too! lol Thanks!

today was great too huh Robin… tomorrow on the other hand. It’s still Feb I guess. I’ll take what we can get!

Oh this was SO delicious! The aromas wafting through the kitchen were incredible. Most of the garlic melted away while cooking instead of remaining whole (like in your picture) so I don’t know if I did something wrong but who cares we all enjoyed it for dinner this evening.

Yep. I enjoy every minute, but I feel like it is a tease once it gets cold and wintery again
February 27th, 2009
Wow! So glad you made it…and loved it. I am sure you did nothing wrong- maybe just depends on how hot your sauce gets
Job well done Leesie!!

We did enjoy it, even if it was temporary. Hope you love the dish and a glass of wine always goes well with that dinner

I had a wonderful dry white called Guenoc, a very nice California Sauvignon Blanc that I found at my local liquor/wine shop. It was perfect for the recipe and for sipping with the meal.

Sounds perfect!
