Rome is such a wonderful city to walk around, occasionally hopping on a bus (get the 7-Day transport ticket!), you wouldn't even need a list of things to see, there's so much along every step you take. Make a list of your must-sees, and let the rest happen! I was in Venice for the last Carnival days and the quiet week after - Italy is such a feast, isn't it? I happen to return to Rome, my hometown for many years, in three days! Rome is such a wonderful city to walk around, occasionally hopping on a bus (get the 7-Day transport ticket!), you wouldn’t even need a list of things to see, there’s so much along every step you take. Found your blog linked off some others that I read, and I've enjoyed reading. I admit, I did not get a chance to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, and the superstition has haunted me since then that I won't make it back to Rome. Though I'm not about to let a superstition stop me from going back, that extra reassurance would help. I only visited for a short trip, so I can't offer many suggestions. Loved the Vatican Museum and wish I could have spent days there. (I'm a museum person so I just wanted to stare at everything... and get away from the crowds). Also the catacombs are very interesting. Just start wandering, see what you find, get lots of gelato, and have fun! Hi there!
