Well, here we are, home again. Safe and sound!
Our flights, trains and shuttles all went off without a hitch this time. Heck, I even got some sleep on the plane! What's up with that?
I wonder why it is that the return trip always goes quicker and more smoothly. Maybe it is because you are so dead tired and realize that you have had your fill of the destination and your brain is overloaded with all the beautiful images and wonderful memories that are swirling around in your mind.
Maybe. Or maybe this time the 90 degree temps just took alot out of me! Heat and I don't get along so well. Temps were 61 degrees in NY when we landed. Oh, how comfortable THAT felt!
So, I have hundreds of pictures to edit, upload to my Flickr account and eventually post. I am excited too, that this time I will be picking the best shots and making them into photo cards! So, as I post photos of Rome, if you are interested in one, just shoot me an email and I'll be happy to oblige!
I also have tons of information to give you on the best places to eat, things to do and survival tips for Rome. And of course, my new Love Letter to Rome. And perhaps a few other Rome musings mixed in.
So don't think for one second that because I am home, we are done talking Rome. Nope, I'll milk that for as long as I can! I don't think you guys will have a problem with that now will ya?
Until then, enjoy these stunning aerial views of the French and Italian Riviera, Corsica and Isola Pianosa taken by Chris through our airplane window yesterday.
Can you pick out the Aeroport de Nice-Cote d'Azure, Antibes and Cannes?
If I didn't know where to go next, these shots certainly inspire me to make my next trip to the French and Italian Riviera!

Ben tornata! I’ve really enjoyed your posts from Rome, Robin. Thanks for taking the time. You are a lively writer, indeed.
Now, don’t you feel a little teary-eyed to have left?

Oh, of course!! I already miss the cappuccino and cornetto at the cafe every morning
And thanks so much for the compliment!!

It was fun to follow you on your trip…but as you can imagine, all that twittering would drive me nuts! It is happening way too often in the movie theater, the concert hall, etc. Can’t we just go back to our simple lives and be disconnected for a while and enjoy the experience of being? Rant over…
Now you must go to beautiful Spain. And the Carribean and Bermuda and Hawaii and Mexico and and and…
The world is a big place and you are still young enough to enjoy it all!
welcome home…

This is great! Can’t wait to read your back stories of Rome, having just returned ourselves not so long ago!
May 28th, 2009
Thanks. You can rant- but my answer is NO
I have taken all previous trips in disconnect mode- so for me, I wanted to put Twitter and my new laptop to good use, to be connected for once. Won’t do it everytime!! Promise.
So many places, so little time!! I think Puerto Rico might be next on the list
Thanks for following, loyal friend!!

Hi Robin !
I am glad you had a great time in Roma. Isn’t the French Riviera lovely too (well, at least seen from the air)?
I am back from NYC, had a fa-bu-lous time with our friends : gorgeous weather, lots of fun and laughters, good food (I highly recommend the Union Square Café), new discoveries,…One only thing was missing : you !! I had printed a sheet with “my melange sent me here…but where is she??” but I totally forgot to ask Alain to take a picture !!
Boo-hoo !!
A bientôt,
Anne

Those pictures swallowed me up so much so that I felt like I wanted to jump out of the airplane, um, into the computer screen and parachute down somewhere, anywhere…lol
I hope your feet are feeling much better and you’ve enjoyed the cooler weather and some down time! ;o)

Those pic are delicious, aren’t they, Leesie? And yes, it is amazing what a day doing nothing, with my feet up in cool weather will do for the soul. And a bath with my fav LUSH bath products tonight will get me even further into relaxation mode!!
