I have never owned a laptop. Until now that is.
I have been writing post after post on a Dell desktop since the day I started this blog, almost 2 years ago.
Many of my blog buddies have laptops and rave about them. I never thought I would be someone that wanted or needed a laptop- but then I got to thinking about it.
I started to see the many benefits and started considering it. Seriously considering it.
Up to that point, I had thought I would just get a laptop that ran Windows, like my desktop.
Then my Dad, who has a Mac, chimed in. He was convincing me to go Mac. And to sweeten the deal, he told me that if I went Mac, he would give me money toward it as my birthday gift.
After months of research, trips to the Apple Store to check them out, scrolling through posts and posts on the Mac forums and thinking Mac vs. PC, Macbook vs. Macbook Pro, New upgrade vs. old, white vs. black.
The moment has arrived.
This weekend I received it. A Macbook. Not the new upgrade (which I really didn't like), but the white Macbook.
My first laptop. My first Mac.
Ain't she a beaut!
And although there is a learning curve involved, I can tell you that I am in laptop love. And in Mac love.
It is true what they say.
Once you try Mac….you never go back!
And if you have never seen their hilarious, ingenious commercials- click here to watch any or all the Mac ads from the last few years.
A small warning though. They are funny as hell, and addictive. You may be at it for hours!
Happy Love Thursday everyone!

You do realize that you’ve just crossed over from the dark side, don’t you? (Lol.) I’m a long-time Mac user (twenty four years) and I can probably count on my two hands the numbers of non-Mac computers I’ve touched!
Congrats on the switch! (And happy Love Thursday!)

I tried a Mac desk computer at my aunt’s this summer and fell madly, passionately in love. Then my hubby told me how much it cost and I said goodbye. It will be an affair to remember!

KC: Hah!! Thanks- good to hear there are soooo many users out there that love it!! If I ever need any help, now I know where to come
Joanne: Ahhh, yes. There are expensive- but worth every penny IMHO. I bought a laptop- which is a little less than the whole desktop.

You’re going to love it! I have a Mac laptop and it’s so easy to use-you’ll wonder why you haven’t been using it for years! Have fun.

That’s great, I have the same one!
Maybe it is because I ave a lot of music and pictures, but I found myself needing to get more ram within the year. If you ever do, don’t do it through the mac store, it’s a fortune – but they are helpful in giving you a site to get some for free to do it yourself.

Hi there,
I’ve been a MAC user from the get-go, so I guess I would never ever change.
I use an iBook G4 that’s about 4 years old. I live in Buenos Aires, and now I’m starting to have little kinky things go wrong with it. The MAC store here told me that next year there will no longer be any more support for my machine. And since electronics, and especially Mac stuff, cost like 3 times more than in the U.S., I’m planning on buying a new MAC laptop when I’m next in the States.
So my question to you is, why didn’t you like the more expensive model?
Also, I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work on your new good machine!
Besos from why down south.

Janie: That is funny, ’cause I am already wondering why. And then I remember how much it cost
And besos back to you as well!!
Susan: Oh..the same one huh? Cool. Great minds…. I don’t have *much* music, but I have photos. I am starting to put pics on memory sticks to save space.
Cherie: Welcome and hello to you!!! Thanks so much for readin’-way down south!!! They price of the new ones was much higher and I didn’t need any of the new features. I am not a gamer- so the upgraded graphics card did nothing for me. Also I didn’t like the silver and black keys and aluminum *may* interfere with the wireless connection- which was really important to me.
Good luck with your *new* purchase when you come to the US

I’ve used a laptop for the past ten years, mainly because of the ease of moving it from place to place and because it takes up less space in our Paris apartment. But I’m not a Mac fan, although I know those who won’t use anything else. I think a lot of it depends on what one gets use to, early in your career.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the transition! xo

Elke: Ha-you make me laugh!!! Maybe I can bring it over and you can play with it- but only if you pick me up in YOUR new toy:)
Tara: I agree about what you are used to!! But, the eye candy can be persuasive and so far, I am enjoying it. And I can image a laptop goes well with a Paris Apartment

I was used to PCs then I started working in Hollywood where most offices and talent use Macs.
At first I resisted. I bought a Macbook last year and that’s it. I will never go back.
enjoy.
