There is a meme circulating and I have been tagged not once, but twice. Thanks to Barbara from Hole in the Donut and Jen Laceda from Folie a deux for tagging me. The original meme was started by Katie of Tripbase.
So I figured that Travel Tip Tuesday was a perfect time for me to answer. I have so many travel secrets, it was hard to narrow it down to three. But, I did.
Here are my 3 Best Travel Secrets.
Italy
San Gimignano is one of the most touristy hill-top towns in Tuscany. But, when the tour buses leave, the real magic happens and that is when you see the real charm. If you are lucky enough to spend the night – stay at the Hotel Leon Bianco, located on the main square. When all is quiet sneak up on the open rooftop terrace, where breakfast is served in the morning, and soak all alone in the jacuzzi, while stargazing. That Tuscan night sky is breathtaking!
Northern California
For a free and stunning view extending both up and down the San Francisco bay area, head to Fish Ranch Road in Orinda,on the East Bay. Drive to Grizzly Peak Blvd and at the highest elevation look for any clearing to the left. From this height you’ll see the Bay Bridge, San Fran and beyond. For something extra special, visit on a July 4th evening and watch about six simultaneous fireworks displays in neighboring cities up and down the bay.
Hudson Valley
There are a slew of reasons to visit my hood, the beautiful Hudson Valley region of New York State. Many people know about the famed restaurants of the Culinary Institute of America, located in Hyde Park. But did you know they have an on-site bakery/café? The Apple Pie Bakery is the place to get freshly baked bread, croissants, baked goods and gourmet desserts to enjoy there – or to go. But they also serve both breakfast and lunch at down right bargain prices. Breakfast is the best value with the Raclette and French Toast both coming in under $4.00.

Trying to find 5 travelers not already tagged was like trying to find a $50 RT ticket to Paris! So some of these folks may have already been tagged- but no matter- they are my picks!
