Travel Photo Friday : On Safari in Africa

written by robin

When I heard that my friend Melanie of TravelswithTwo was going on an African Safari, not only was I excited for her, but also selfishly excited for myself.  I’ve always wanted to go on an African Safari, but as with so many other places on my long travel wish list, I haven’t yet been able to go.  I was excited to live vicariously through her photos upon her return.

Needless to say, she did not disappoint!  She graciously allowed me to look through her collection on Flickr and pick my favorite to showcase in this month’s Travel Photo Friday.

I don’t know why this one spoke to me, but I love the zebras and all of the different colors of the landscape, including the pink-ish hue. Even the graceful lines of the trees add to the overall feel of the photo.

Zebras in Tanzania

Here Melanie tells us about the photo in her own words:

An October morning in northwestern Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater, home to about 25,000 wild animals — including 4,000 zebras. These two Grant’s zebras are part of a larger herd, referred to as a dazzle.

Thanks so much for sharing this stunning shot Melanie!

See you on February 4th for our next edition!
